Dechamplain tallies four, Morinville Jets thrash Wetaskiwin Icemen
Wetaskiwin, AB – Ethan Dechamplain scored four goals and added an assist as the Morinville Jets extended its winning streak to seven games with a 9-3 whipping over the Wetaskiwin Icemen at Wetaskiwin Arena on Sunday.
Completing the scoring for for the Morinville Jets was Kye Buchanan with two goals, Blake Sydlowski and Ryan Conquergood and Owen Jespersen chipping in with a goal each. Buchanan and Cade Van Brabant each added three assists and Sydlowski added two assists. Goaltender Kyle Nelson turned aside 26 shots for the Morinville Jets in the victory.
Finding the twine for the Wetaskiwin Icemen was Tyson Ward, Caeden Stephan and Josh Gagnon chipping in with singles. Cooper Sonnenberg added two assists. Goaltender Clayton Wandler made 38 saves in the loss for the Wetaskiwin Icemen.
The setback halted the Wetaskiwin Icemen's four-game winning streak.
With the victory, the Morinville Jets improve to 26-9-0-1 while the Wetaskiwin Icemen fall to 15-20-0-0.
