Spruce Grove, AB – Alex Hawirko scored two goals and added an assist to help lift the St. Albert Merchants to a 7-5 victory over the Spruce Grove Regals at Spruce Grove Agrena on Wednesday.

Adding markers for the St. Albert Merchants was Dustin Robinson with two goals and Stefan Meunier, Brady Reid and Tyler Pennington each with single strikes. Meunier added three assists and Chris Clark added two assists. Goaltender Curtis Ronaldson turned aside -5 shots for the St. Albert Merchants in the victory.

Scoring for the Spruce Grove Regals was Brendan McCalpin with two goals and Tyler Herder, Matt Herder and Elias Lachance each adding single goals. Goaltender Brad Miller made -5 saves in the loss for the Spruce Grove Regals.

With the victory, the St. Albert Merchants improve to 16-12-0-1 while the Spruce Grove Regals fall to 16-12-0-2.
