Edmonton, AB – Mitchell Vaillant scored a hat-trick and added three assists to help fuel the Beverly Warriors to an 8-5 win over the Morinville Jets at Clareview-A on Friday.

Rounding out the scoring for the Beverly Warriors was Cameron Wiebe with two goals, Brock Molofy and Ethan Brown and Ashton Wald with a goal each. Vaillant added three assists and Trent Campbell added two assists. Goaltender Royce Watson turned aside 34 shots for the Beverly Warriors in the win.

Striking for the Morinville Jets was Graeme Hampton, Hayden Laporte, Kye Buchanan, Blake Sydlowski and Mitchell Verenka chipping in with a goal each. Braydon Iwaschuk added three assists and Hampton added two assists. Goaltender Tanner Schnirer made 33 saves in the loss for the Morinville Jets.

Wald added an empty-netter with 0:25 left in the third period to seal the win for the Beverly Warriors.

With the win, the Beverly Warriors improve to 1-0-0-0 while the Morinville Jets fall to 2-1-0-0.
