Leduc, AB – Eric Perneel scored two goals and added two assists to help secure the Stony Plain Flyers a victory in a 7-5 victory over the Leduc Co-op Riggers at LRC - Aspen Arena on Sunday.

Completing the scoring for for the Stony Plain Flyers was Drew Perneel with two goals and Cody Laliberte, Jacob Hiemstra and Ryan Hapgood each contributing with single markers. Laliberte. Goaltender Nicholas Rondeau turned aside 37 shots for the Stony Plain Flyers in the victory.

Providing the offence for the Leduc Co-op Riggers was Robert Young with a hat-trick and Mason Kunka and Michael Dys with a goal each. Kunka added two assists. Goaltender Matt Bowers made 16 saves in the loss for the Leduc Co-op Riggers.

Perneel deposited his fifth of the season into an empty net with 0:02 left in the third period to seal the win for the Stony Plain Flyers.

With the victory, the Stony Plain Flyers improve to 5-1-0-0 while the Leduc Co-op Riggers fall to 2-4-0-0.
