Gorda scores twice, Strathcona Bruins destroy Beaumont Chiefs
Sherwood Park, AB – Gage Gorda scored two goals and added three assists to help lift the Strathcona Bruins to a 6-1 pounding over the Beaumont Chiefs at Strathcona Olympiette Centre on Sunday.
Also scoring for the Strathcona Bruins was Keagan Gorda with two goals and Jordan Martin and Keaton Twohey (delete) each adding single goals. Gorda added three assists, Gorda and Jesse Wood-Schatz each added two assists. Goaltender Mitch Vigneau turned aside 29 shots for the Strathcona Bruins in the victory.
Scoring the only marker for the Beaumont Chiefs was and Josh Read, his seventh of the season. Goaltender James Brady made seven saves in the loss for the Beaumont Chiefs.
With the victory, the Strathcona Bruins improve to 1-1-0-0 while the Beaumont Chiefs fall to 1-1-0-0.
